Cheat’s Cinnamon Danish Pastries

Sometimes you need a quick fix, something that’ll be easy to make but also delicious to eat. These cheat’s Danish pastries are just that – just four ingredients and half an hour and you’ll have some incredibility delicious breakfast pastries. But fear not, these little sweetly spiced morsels aren’t just good for breakfast, they’re delicious at any time of day. They look extra nice with a drizzle of water icing but there is no need, they’re sweet enough without.

These are perfect if you’re on holiday in some self-catering accommodation- all you really need is an oven and a baking sheet and you’ve got a super special breakfast on the cards.

Cheat’s Cinnamon Danish Pastries

dairy-free, egg-free, nut-free, soya-free, sesame-free, vegetarian and vegan
Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 15 minutes
Course Breakfast, Snack, tea time

Ingredients
  

  • ½ pack ready rolled puff-pastry
  • 50 g dairy-free margarine
  • 60 g caster sugar
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Centigrade
  • Combine to margarine, sugar and cinnamon to make a paste
  • Roll out the pastry and spread over an even layer of the cinnamon sugar paste
  • Starting with the short end, roll up the pastry so you have a nice spiral of pastry and paste
  • Cut into 1cm thick slices and spread apart on a lined baking sheet, slightly press down
  • Bake for 15 minutes until golden
  • Cool and then drizzle with water icing, if desired

    1. Yes of course – I use jusroll or Tesco or Sainsbury’s own brand. As long as you avoid the all butter varieties, most commercially available puff is ok
