Chocolate dipped marshmallow reindeer are the no bake treat you must make this Christmas. Allergy-friendly, and very easy, these little vegan Christmas treats are a must make – as you can see from my photos below, they a really great addition to a Christmas chocolate box, adding a whimsical fun factor that is quite irresistible.

I saw a similar idea to these Reindeer pops online and just had to jump on the bandwagon! The ones i saw used toffees, but i think these marshmallow versions are even better.

This is definitely a recipe to make with the kids or as a fun activity! All you need are some marshmallows, melted chocolate, pretzel sticks, eye decorations and some red skittles and you have the cutest little homemade chocolates you could imagine! Ok you may get a little messy dipping the mallows, but at least you can use the antler handles, and it’ll be loads of fun and everyone will love eating the finished reindeer chocolates.

In fact, the flavour combinations work so well; vanilla, chocolate, salt and a little hit of strawberry, it really does work. The textures also combine really well; you have the soft squidgy mallow, crisp chocolate shell, chewy sweet and then salty crunchy pretzel. Who knew such a combo would work so well!

Do you also get Wallace and Grommit vibes from these reindeer? I think it’s the googly eyes, so these will be the perfect snack to enjoy whilst watching the new film on Christmas day!

Even if you’ve never made any homemade chocolates before, I’d urge you to give these a go. They’re so much fun and really easy to make. I used Freedom Mallows which are vegan and free-from and available from lost of supermarkets and health food shops.

Chocolate Dipped Marshmallow Reindeer
Method
- Snap the pretzel sticks in half and push into the top of each marshmallow to look like the antlers
- Melt the chocolate
- Dip each mallow into the chocolate (holding onto the pretzel antlers) and then place onto baking paper or a silicone mat
- add the googly eyes and red skittle noses
- Leave to set. If you haven't tempered your chocolate i'd recommend keeping these in the fridge
